Capable crossovers like Venza from Toyota carve a quirky niche in the respective class. The North American market is lucky to have this model as it is dedicated to offering extreme comfort via a spacious cabin and that too on a budget. Now, this model is entering another annual life cycle as 2018 Toyota Venza to garner the attention of its audience.
This above statement might be surprising to some as there have been announcements of Toyota shelving this model. But recent reports confirm that 2015 Toyota Venza isn’t going to be the last one as the Japanese automaker is working on a new Venza to take the crossover segment by storm – just another marketing strategy!
There’s going to be 2 options of engines for this Toyota Venza 2018 – 2.7-liter inline 4 and 3.5-liter V6. Improvements in these power units are for sure, and Toyota will make sure that vehicles like Nissan Murano and Subaru Tribeca suffer an ill fate.
The 1st engine; 2.7-liter inline 4 will be tuned to produce outputs of more than 182 HP at 5,800 RPM and 185 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 RPM. Similarly, fuel economy is set to improve significantly and the figures might surpass 22 mpg city/ 26 mpg highway/ 23 mpg combined. This engine is speculated to use a 6-speed automatic transmission along with a front-wheel drive.
2nd in the option, the 3.5-liter V6 engine is integrating several tweaks. The result? Output figures of more than 268 HP at 6,200 RPM and 246 lb-ft of torque at 4,700 RPM. This engine is also to come standard with an all-wheel-drive in higher trims. As to fuel economy, expect the numbers to stay close to 19 mpg city/ 23 mpg highway/ 20 mpg combined.
The new 2018 Toyota Venza is coming fresh with stylistic touch-ups both on the exterior and interior.
Starting with the outer body, the front fascia is coming pronounced with an upscale design. The grille is retaining the previous signature styling while flaunting some new add-ons. Apart from the outer chrome bars, this grille is supposed to integrate mesh-type intake on the inner section. The cast alloy wheels are getting new chrome treatments, front fenders will be beefed up and the windshield will have a steeper rake. Out back, the taillights are getting stylistic touch-ups with sharp edges. The rear bumper will remain pretty much the same and also tailgate might integrate power lift as standard.
Toyota Venza Interior
Changes are guaranteed to influence the interior cabin as well. Toyota Venza 2018 is targeted on catering family luxury and the addition of new plush seats might just do it. The dashboard will be a clean slate with a wide inner column. Toyota will present mods on the steering wheel as well. This steering wheel will be built off of an energy-absorbing column for the driver safety and integrate rearranged controls.
There’s supposed to be a dual-zone climate control along with power windows. The driver’s seat will integrate 8-way power reclining (with memory setting) and rest of the seats might get a manual adjustment.
2018 Toyota Venza Price and Release Date
Given the changes, the starting price of 2018 Toyota Venza could stay close to $35,000. Toyota hasn’t come up with an official confirmation and this model could be available by the fall of 2017.
